Nice Guys Trilogy by Kindle Alexander

Nice Guys is a Mystery Suspense Gay Romance Trilogy by Kindle Alexander and is intended for adult readers 18+.

nice guys

Reading Order:

  1. Double Full (Nice Guys #1)
  2. Full Disclosure (Nice Guys #2)
  3. Full Domain (Nice Guys #3)

I really think you should read this series in order.  Each book contains a love story but also a mystery/investigation that continues with each book.

My Four Star Review:

Double Full is the story of Colt Michaels (College football star) and Jace Montgomery (Cheerleader.)  The two meet in college and fall in love but obstacles are thrown in their way to force them apart.  Ten years later Colt is the star quarterback for a NY team and Jace built an all-star cheerleading gym in Texas.   Major changes in their lives throw them back together but tragedy strikes by way of an accident causing Colt and Jace to make some changes in their future.

Colt’s team doctor calls in his son, Deputy US Marshal Mitch Knox, to look into Colts recent accident.  The Marshal discovers similar incidences where gay men were killed or hurt in sever accidents but will Knox be able to convince his superiors to let him open an investigation?

From the moment I started the book, I fell in love with both characters.  It was heartbreaking to watch Colt make the decision he needed to make but I think his decision really pushed Jace to follow his dreams.  When they finally got back together, it was wonderful watching Jace open up to Colt again and watching Colt change into the man he always wanted to be.

Full Disclosure picks up where Double Full leaves off and is the story of Deputy US Marshal Mitch Knox and Texas State Trooper Cody Turner.  This is where the investigation into the deaths and accidents really takes off due to the son of a senator becoming a victim.  Knox ends up having to work with the FBI and he’s really not happy about that.  He is so not a suit and tie kind of guy. It is extremely entertaining to watch Mitch deal with the stuffy FBI agents he works with them.  Mitch’s partner, Deputy US Marshal Kreed Sinacola, joins the investigation.

Colt and Jace make an appearance and it’s so great to see them again.  They take Mitch out drinking and dancing and that’s where Mitch meets Cody.  One night with Cody and it changes Mitch’s life.  They try to make a long distance relationship work, Cody gets stuck in the crossfire of the investigation but don’t worry, there is still a happily ever after for them. Keep reading and jump right into Book 3, Full Domain.

Full Domain is the final book in this trilogy and is the story of US Marshal Kreed Sinacola and Aaron Stuart, Young Computer Geek who works for the National Security Agency, joins Kreed and the FBI to infiltrate the group they think is responsible for the attacks.  Kreed has had a soft spot for Aaron the moment they meet through skype and has been trying to get into Aarons pants since the first met face to face at the airport.  The chemistry between these two is off the charts and it was an absolute joy to read the interaction between the two.

The investigation wraps up in this book and all the guys are involved.  It’s really like one big story all rolled into three books with this cast of characters becoming family.  I really enjoyed Kindle’s writing and her characters and I look forward to reading more of her work.

If you love a great mystery, strong men making the world a better place and romance with a happily ever after, then definitely pick up these books.

More About Double Full:

“Up and coming football hero, Colt Michaels, makes a Hail Mary pass one night in the college locker room that results in the hottest, sexiest five days of his young life. However, interference after the play has him hiding his past and burying his future in the bottom of a bottle. While Colt seems to have it all, looks can be deceiving especially when you’re trapped so far in a closet that you can’t see your way out. When ten years of living his expected fast-lane lifestyle lands him engaged to his manipulative Russian supermodel girlfriend, he decides it’s time to call a new play.
Jace Montgomery single-handily built the largest all-star cheerleading gym in the world, driven by a need to forget a life-altering encounter with a handsome quarterback a decade ago. His reputation as an excellent coach, hard-nosed business man, and savvy entrepreneur earned him respect in the sometimes catty world of competitive cheerleading. When Jace learns of his ex-lover’s plans to marry, his heart executes a barrel roll and his carefully placed resolve tumbles down without a mat to absorb the shock. Can his island escape help him to finally let go of the past and move his life forward?”

More About Full Disclosure:

“Deputy United States Marshal Mitch Knox apprehends fugitives for a living. His calm, cool, collected attitude and devastatingly handsome good looks earn him a well-deserved bad boy reputation, both in the field and out. While away on an assignment, he blows off some steam at a notorious Dallas nightclub. Solving the case that has plagued him for months takes a sudden backseat to finding out all there is to know about the gorgeous, shy blond sitting alone at the bar.
Texas State Trooper Cody Turner is moving up the ranks, well on his way to his dream of being a Texas Ranger. While on a two-week mandatory vacation, he plans to relax and help out on his family’s farm. Mitch is the last distraction Cody needs, but the tatted up temptation that walks into the bar and steals his baseball cap is too hard to ignore.
As Mitch’s case gains nationwide attention, how will he convince the sexy state trooper that giving him a chance won’t jeopardize his life’s plan…especially when the evil he’s tracking brings the hate directly to his doorstep, threatening more than just their careers.”

More About Full Domain:

“Honor, integrity, and loyalty are how Deputy US Marshal Kreed Sinacola lives his life. A former SEAL now employed by the Special Operations Group of the US Marshal Service, Kreed spent most of his life working covert operations and avoiding relationships. Never one to mix business with pleasure, his boundaries blur and his convictions are put to the test when he finally comes face-to-face with the hot computer geek he’s been partnered with. Hell-bent on closing the ongoing case for his longtime friend, he pushes past his own limits and uncovers more than he expects.
Aaron Stuart strives for one thing: justice. Young and full of idealism, his highly sought after computer skills land him a position with the National Security Agency. Aaron’s biggest hazard at his job is cramped fingers, but all that changes when he is drawn into the middle of a dangerous federal investigation. Aaron gets more than he bargained for when the FBI partners him with a handsome and tempting deputy US marshal. His attraction to the inked up, dark-haired man provides another kind of threat altogether. Aaron tries desperately to place a firewall around his heart and fight his developing feelings, knowing one misstep on his part could ultimately destroy him.
The solution isn’t as easy as solving the case, which is treacherous enough as it is. But the growing sexual attraction between them threatens to derail more than just Kreed’s personal convictions as he quickly learns temptation and matters of the heart rarely fit easily into the rules he’s lived by. Will Kreed be able to convince Aaron to open his heart and face the fact that sometimes the answers aren’t always hidden in code?”

First Comes Love by Emily Goodwin

First Comes Love is the first Emily Goodwin novel I’ve read but it will definitely not be the last.  This New Adult Romance is recommended for readers 18+.

first comes love

My Four Star Review:

In high school bad boy Noah stumbles across his best friends little sister good girl Lauren and falls immediately in love.  There’s just one problem, the “bro code.” Lauren is completely off limits.

Ten years later Lauren finds herself in a Biker Bar with Noah coming to her rescue.  Both of their lives go a little off track after a motorcycle ride to Lauren’s house in the rain and a break in the “bro code.”

Over the next 9 months, their relationship goes though many ups and downs and it I absolutely loved following them on their journey.

What I really loved the most about this book? There was no real tragedy and I didn’t need any tissues.   But I will say there was plenty of real life struggles between these very well developed characters.

If you enjoy a great romantic book with characters in their 20’s and a happily ever after, then definitely pick up this book.

Book received courtesy of the author.

About First Comes Love:

First comes love.
Then comes marriage.
Then comes a—

Hold up. You’re joking right? As if life works off a neat little list like that, moving down, checking things off before jumping to the next task. We’re not married. We’re not lovers. Hell, we’re hardly even friends. Noah Wilson isn’t exactly “life partner” material, and he sure as hell isn’t “father material”. He’s my older brother’s best friend, and has been off limits, sworn off, locked in the highest tower and out of reach since we met over ten years ago. With his devilish good looks, tattoos, motorcycle, and trail of broken hearts and tears, I’ve had good reason to stay away from the bad boy my mother warned me about.

Until one night. One stupid, regrettable night that changed both of our lives forever. And now I only have nine months to decide our fate, to see if Noah’s rebel heart is capable of anything more than a one night stand.

This isn’t a love story. This is a life story. And life doesn’t go according to plan.

Honesty by Seth King

Seth King’s Young Adult Novel, Honesty, releases today.

honesty

My Five Star Review:

Seth King has a way of telling a story by giving you words that take up residence in your heart and soul. Once the words are in there, you can’t help but feel changed.

Nicky and Coley are two 19 year old’s trying to navigate the “roads” of their lives. Obstacles, like love, family, friends, school, and the world, get in their way. They try to make their relationship work the best way they can. There are so many ups and downs for them on this roller coaster ride that it just about breaks my heart.

Two people should be allowed to love each other regardless of their gender, race, religion etc and the struggles Nicky and Coley go through are still so typical in this world. I’d like to think the world is getting better all the time but we still have a way to go.

For me personally, I ‘Honestly’ do not care that your first love was a boy. I don’t care if your fifth, sixth or current love is a boy or a girl. We love who we love. Our hearts and our souls pick who they want in their life and they love. I just wish the world would leave people alone and let them LOVE.

This book, Seth King, will change lives, help lives and make people stronger. All of your books change people and help people. Don’t ever stop writing.

I would highly recommend this book. Everyone should read it.

About Honesty:

A radiant story of first love and self-acceptance for fans of John Green, Jandy Nelson, and Rainbow Rowell
“Maybe we weren’t meant to collide. Maybe we were meant to explode.”
As a closeted teenager in the Deep South with a holy-roller father and the scars to prove it, bookworm Cole Furman has resigned himself to experiencing life and love only within the pages of his favorite novels. But after Nick Flores seems to walk off a page and starts to rewrite his story, Cole finds his dreams spinning into a dazzling – and complicated – reality.

If you have ever found yourself on the wild breathless thriller ride that is young love, Honesty will rip you back again in screaming color.

Thoughts about Blood Kiss (book 1 in Black Dagger Legacy Series)

blood kiss

Thoughts by Leisha: Five Stars!

Blood Kiss is the first book in a new spin off series, Black Dagger Legacy, by JR Ward.

Blood Kiss reminded me of how the Black Dagger Brotherhood books started out. (Not that I’m complaining of how they are now! I wait, rather impatiently for each new book!) You get an HEA and the glimpses into the Brothers lives are wonderful! Just enough of them to get me over the hump until the next book is released!

Since Black Dagger Legacy is a spin off to JR Ward’s popular Black Dagger Brotherhood series, it is highly recommended you read the Black Dagger Brotherhood series before you start the Legacy series.  And then begin this series after you read, The Shadows.

About Blood Kiss:

“Paradise, blooded daughter of the king’s First Advisor, is ready to break free from the restrictive life of an aristocratic female. Her strategy? Join the Black Dagger Brotherhood’s training center program and learn to fight for herself, think for herself…be herself. It’s a good plan, until everything goes wrong. The schooling is unfathomably difficult, the other recruits feel more like enemies than allies, and it’s very clear that the Brother in charge, Butch O’Neal, a.k.a. theDhestroyer, is having serious problems in his own life.
And that’s before she falls in love with a fellow classmate. Craeg, a common civilian, is nothing her father would ever want for her, but everything she could ask for in a male. As an act of violence threatens to tear apart the entire program, and the erotic pull between them grows irresistible, Paradise is tested in ways she never anticipated–and left wondering whether she’s strong enough to claim her own power…on the field, and off.”

Desire (Montana Dreams Book 3) by Cait Jarrod

desire

Desire is the 3rd and final book in Cait Jarrod’s Montana Dreams series.  This is a New Adult novel and recommended for ages 17+.  Each book can be read as a standalone novel but I would recommend reading them in order.  You get more out of each one if you do.

My Five Star Review:

Desire was the last book in the Montana Dreams series and it ended up being my favorite.  I absolutely loved the first book Divine, Matt and Trina’s story, but something about the way Bradley dealt with Cadence in Desire really drew me in.

To me this book had everything:  it had two siblings, a brother and sister, who would move the earth to help each other, it had a main character (Bradley) who decided he was done being pushed away without any answers, and it had a woman (Cadence) dealing with a tragedy that just about broke my heart.  It had self destruction but in the end it had healing as well.

I think the writing in Desire was the best I’ve read by Cait and the ending was absolutely amazing.  It pulled the entire series together, including all the characters, up on Apple’s Peak in the mountains of Montana.  I look forward to reading more by Cait.

About the Book:

“Cadence Duvall has a heartbreaking secret. Rather than risk rejection, she pushes away the man who taught her the true meaning of desire. Two years later, her heart still hurts and the guilt remains. She heads to Bluebird Valley, Montana, and her best friend, to bury the memories of a tragedy caused by her careless actions.
After Cadence breaks his heart, Bradley Lovett severs ties with his overbearing parents and takes a position in Florida as a horse trainer at a thoroughbred stable. An urgent phone call from his sister, begging him to help the woman he only wants to forget, sends him to Montana. When Bradley tries to help Cadence face her secrets, he finds forgiveness may be the key to their happiness.”

The Ninth Hunter by Anna Hub

the ninth hunter

The Ninth Hunter by Anna Hub release date January 12, 2016.

About The Ninth Hunter:

“These weren’t ghosts of the dead with unfinished business. They were something far more sinister.
Daniel Barrow is a ghost hunter bound to a life of misery; protecting the world from ghosts by killing their human hosts. He knows the rules: mark the targets, plot the crime scenes, and then murder those beyond saving. Daniel’s safe in his rituals—until he meets Faye Michaels.
Faye isn’t his average target and her ghosts threaten to destroy everything he has worked for. When his ritual goes wrong, Daniel must create an uneasy alliance with the woman he intended to kill. But the deeper they dig, the closer they get to a dangerous secret that will change their lives forever.
Daniel must make a choice: fulfil his duty, or turn his back on those he has come to trust. Can the truth lead him to salvation?”

My Five Star Review:

The Ninth Hunter is not your typical Ghost story but so much more.   I wasn’t sure what to expect when I won a free copy of this book.  It’s a completely different concept about ghosts, how they interact with humans, and the hunters who track the ghosts.  (To me this is a Supernatural/Paranormal/Horror New Adult story for readers 16+)

Twenty-three year old Daniel Barrow, who has been hunting ghosts for the past 6 years, is about to commit murder, again.  His target is twenty-three year old Faye Michaels who is being haunted by ghosts.  Things don’t go exactly as planned when Daniel finally gets face to face with Faye.  This story is action packed from the very beginning and took me on a ride I didn’t want to get off of.  There are twists and turns along the way, secrets and information that turns the course of events, and an ending I thought would truly never happen.   Anna Hub created very intense characters and likable at the same time.  It was enjoyable to watch Daniel and Faye’s characters evolve and change as the story progressed.

The Ninth Hunter is extremely well written and kept me engaged the entire way through.  I look forward to reading more of Anna’s books.

City Beautiful by CM Foss

city beautiful

About City Beautiful:

“Patrick Thompson is all city, all the time. A young doctor, once full of passion, now disillusioned by the practice, he sets off across the country, intent on a small breather before a fresh start.
Ivy Lang loves the country way. So much so that she’s created a place where others can experience her ideas of the fundamentals for both mind and body. The life is perfect for her, carefully cultivated by her own hands.
He’s waiting for something to inspire him.
She finds inspiration all around her.
But when a chance meeting turns their worlds upside down, can they come together to create something beautiful?”

My Five Star Review:

City Beautiful is a very touching love story and emotional journey between two characters (Ivy and Patrick) who couldn’t be more different, or are they?  (City Beautiful is a Romantic Comedy suitable for readers 18+)

I really enjoyed Ivy.  She is a free spirit kind of woman who focuses on all the positives in life.  She built herself an amazing life she truly enjoys and wants to share with others.  Patrick is a doctor and your typical “city” guy who ends up at Ivy’s farm and it changes his life.

Patrick: “She was the king of beautiful I’d expect to see back home.  City Beautiful. Except there was nothing city about her.”

Ivy: “Come with me.  I’m gonna make you the best meal you’ve ever had.  It’s gonna change your life.”

Their emotional journey drew me in and didn’t let me go until I got to the end of the book. Trust me, you will absolutely love this story so pick it up today.

This is the first book I’ve read by CM Foss but it will definitely not be the last.
